The FAB… AKA Floating Action Button

Pop ups recently received a new cousin this week, the brain child of marketer Soren Jordansen and super programmer John Merrick, is a new twist on an old tool. I really like the versatility and potential that this program gives. It being a script that you add to your site allows you to “float” just about anything you want in a pop-up that moves up and down the side of the screen while your visitor is on any page of your website, forum, or blog.
You want a sales button to show so when they chose to take action on the sales page then you can do that. Do you want to have an opt in to your list in the box then you can do that. Do you want your blog subscription details there for visitors to see, well you guessed it you can do that too. The list goes on and I can hardly list all the perks here, even adding a video isn’t out of the question. I will be looking to add this script to my sites when and where available.
Ok so I mentioned it was a script so for those who are not sure about how to install scripts or feel they “suck” at it, don’t worry! They have done an awesome job of producing all of the proper manuals and resources to help you get this up and running quick and easy no matter what your tech skill set currently is. I actually read a blog post the other day about someone who NEVER thought they would install a script themselves, yet easily installed floating action button hassle free.

I know the price on this is pretty good. $7 is fine but I saw this a thought Java! So after about an hour of playing around with a script I found I have created my own floating button. It’s not as pretty but it works. Let me know if you would like a copy of the code.
